Rtn. Dr. Salil Dutta - (Major Donor, Level-II)

District Governor 1992-93

Born in Kolkata he studied in Presidency College and then in Calcutta Medical College. On receiving his medical degree he went to United Kingdom where he worked in Wales, Nottinghamshire and city of York for 10 years He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London and Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He has been practicing in Siliguri since early seventies as OBG specialist. Dr. Salil Datta joined the Rotary club of Siliguri in 1976 and served as President of his club for two consecutive terms 1988-89 & 1989-90 In 1990 he has the distinction of being the Chairman of 1st District Conference. During his Presidentship two new Rotaract clubs and one Interact was chartered. The Inner wheel club of Siliguri was also sponsored during his presidentship. In 1992-93 he served the district as District Governor. He also has the distinction of being the first Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation from our district. Now he is Major Donor Level Two He is recipient of the Service Above Self award from Rotary International. He is also recipient of the Citation for Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service Award fro The Rotary Foundation. Dr. Salil Datta has served the District in various capacities but his major involvement has been as Chairman of the GSE committee for a number of years. He served the District as District Rotary Foundation Chairman since the year 2007-10. He has represented our district at the Council of Legislation held at New Delhi in year 1997. He has been the RI President’s Representative at a District Conference of RI District 3110 in the year 1998. He was a member of the Nominating Committee for RI Director. He has also been the District Trainer for three Rotary terms. Married to Bharati, who was Charter President of the Inner Wheel Club of Siliguri and District Chairman of Inner Wheel District 324 in year 95-96. He is the recepient of the highest honour of the Rotary International, the Service Above Self award & Distinguished Service award

Dr. Pijush Kanti Roy - (Major Donor)

District Governor 2004-05

He joined Rotary in 1990, the very year when a new star took birth in the galaxy of the Rotary world as District. 3240 emerged from the District 329. That year, Rtn.Ajoy Burman served as President and Rtn.Saibal Mitra served as Club Secretary. Late.PDG Ramesh Agarwal, served as the first District Governor of this new District with the first grand District Conference, held in Siliguri. After that, he served at different positions such as : Club level:President-Twice, Vice President, Secretary, Different com. Chairman District Level : Different com. , Governor Zonal Representative, Governor Group Representative, Assistant Governor, District Pulse Polio chairman, District Trainer, Distict Co-Trainer, Conference Chairman, District Foundation Trustee. Probably he is the only Rotarian who served as the Assistant Governor for the District and President of the Club simultaneously in the Rotary world. At National level, he served for four consecutive years at National Polio Plus Committee as a committee member. He served as Centennial District Governor in the year 2004 -2005. Principal achievements- Added 4 new clubs in the District. Donated a sum of Four lakhs for Sunami Victims Relief Fund at Tamil Nadu District. In the District Conference at Siliguri Sinclairs Hotel, there was a group of good orators. Among them, Mr.Shiv Khera and after Rotary International, President Raja Saboo were the main attraction. For the Cultural Part, the stars of the show were Tanusree Sankarv Group and Bollywood's famous musician- Mr.Bapi Lahiri. Happily Married to Basobi. He is the recepient of the highest honour of the Rotary International, the Service Above Self award.

Rtn. Subhasish Chatterjee - (Major Donor)

District Governor 2020-21

Subhasish was born in a traditional Bengali family and after his initial education from Darjeeling he was graduated & further to that did his post-graduation in Computer Applications from Delhi University with distinction. He was an active member of Rotaract (Youth wing of Rotary) and had served his Home Rotaract Clubs & District in various capacities. In the year 2001-02 he was nominated by Rotary Club of Siliguri and represented Rotary District 3240 to District 2040, Italy as a Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team Member and on his return, he was invited & joined Rotary Club of Siliguri in 2003. In Rotary 3240 he is a very popular face and has served his club & district in various important positions and discharged his duties with extreme caliber, he has been an active facilitator & trainer in many Presidents Elect Training (PETS) & Assistant Governor Training Seminar (AGTS) on Rotary online tools & has visited many Clubs outside district 3240 as an invited guest speaker, he was also invited as a trainer on Rotary online tools for DGE’s training seminar for zone 6A (old) in 2015-16 in Kolkata, he is the one who developed & brought online Club Monthly Reporting (CMR) in 3240 way back in 2015-16 & made 3240 proud in India, the only district started online reporting the then, popularly he is known in his home district as "Cyberman".
